VHG Memberships Explained
V2 Membership
This is an up-front payment, which gives you:
- A full-time position in the class/league that you registered for
- A cheaper per-class or per-game rate than drop-in memberships (depending on program)
- Online report card at the end of the term (must be requested to the program lead)
- First move on programming the next term (early bird registration)
Drop-In Membership
This is a membership that is payment at the end of each month for classes/league games attended. This is a flexible membership where you can come and go as you wish with no financial commitment up front. However, there is:
- No guaranteed space in the class/league. For example, if the Spring VHL has full teams of V2 memberships, drop-in members may not get into many – if any – league games. First priority is given to V2 memberships.
- No report card at the end of the term
- Higher per-class rate.
- Drop-in members are e-mailed 1-2 days before a class/game letting them know the availability for the upcoming class/game. It’s first come, first served. If there are a lot of players on the drop-in list, spaces become very limited.
Example Scenario
Player A signs up as a V2 member for the Fall VHL League. Player A has a locked-in spot on a team for the entire 12-game term. Player A pays up front for the league. Player A will receive an e-mail ahead of the Winter term regarding sign-up for the Winter VHL league – you’ll have an early sign-up link so you can keep your space before the public can access it.
Player B signs up as a Drop-in member for the Fall VHL League. Player B gets an e-mail on Friday or Saturday regarding the upcoming weeks game (if there are spaces available). It’s first come, first served. Payment happens at the end of the month if you played (ie if you played 2 games in November, you get charged for 2 games at the end of November). Player B receives an e-mail about signing up for Winter VHL after V2 members have their “sign-up window”.
