The Top-5 Hockey Goal Songs of All-Time

Posted on June 22, 2022

The scene is set. Your favourite team scores a big goal, the lights in the building go out, the horn is bellowing, and you’re screaming at the top of your lungs. What happens next? In kicks the goal song. Here are 5 of our all-time favourites, with YouTube links to each so you know which ones we are talking about. Just click the song title and you’ll be golden.

#5 – The Black Keys – Lonely Boy . This one really tears us up, because Doug E Fresh – let me clear my throat and Venga Boys – we like to party could very well be in this spot. But for now, we go with a great goal song which also has (arguably) the cheapest music video ever produced. I’d say the video was created by the producers driving down the street, offering $50 to anyone willing to dance for 3 minutes, and voila! A classic.

#4 – Andrew WK – Party Hard . We are pretty sure the Pittsburgh Penguins still use this one! Side note – ‘She is Beautiful’ is also a great pump-up jam for those of you who still enjoy a head-banging rock song. Here’s what it looks like when its bumping @ the ‘New Mellon Arena’

#3 – Kernkraft 400 – Zombie Nation . If you haven’t heard this one after a goal at a local arena, you shouldn’t be reading this article. Go to a local arena more often. Just kidding.

#2 – Blur – Song 2 . 99.9% sure these guys are a one hit wonder, but this is a timeless goal song that is likely to span generations. Think about how much money these people have made with a song that has lyrics that a 5 year old could have thrown together. Makes one really regret their 9-5 job, no?

#1 – Gary Glitter – Rock ‘n Roll Part I . You were thinking this was going to be Van Halen – Jump, weren’t you? Trick! Van Halen have been snubbed on back-to-back music-related lists! Maybe next time, Eddie (R.I.P).
